    A Strong R&D Team
    Since the establishment, Maxwell determines to be dedicated to independent innovation, takes the domestication of core equipment as its own responsibility, regards key technological and scientific research personnel as the cornerstone of business development, and has cultivated and solidified an industry-leading innovation team. The team is based on young and middle-aged talents, which comprises more than 1777 R&D personnel with rich experience in mechanical engineering design, semiconductor technology, material physics, optoelectronic technology, electrical engineering and automation, including a cluster of senior doctors and masters, senior engineers, etc.

    The R&D team of Maxwell consists of the PECVD vacuum equipment R&D unit, PVD vacuum equipment R&D unit, screen printing equipment R&D unit, laser equipment R&D unit and semiconductor thin-film process technology R&D unit, etc., and has undertaken a number of national-level and provincial-level science and technology projects.

    In 2023, the Company's R&D investment is RMB 763 million, accounting for more than 9.44% of the operating income. With persistent investment in scientific research, Maxwell has attained a core competitiveness in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing, which lays a solid ground for the development of Maxwell in the three major industries of PV, display and semiconductor.
    Set Up Four Major Laboratory Platforms
    HJT high-efficiency solar cell laboratory, module technology laboratory, analysis test and detection center, laser laboratory.
    The total area of the laboratories is about 10,000 square meters, the total investment of the laboratories is nearly RMB 300 million, with more than 100 sets of experimental and testing equipment.
    • HJT High-efficiency Solar Cell Laboratory
      With a complete pilot line for HJT high-efficiency solar cells, the laboratory can quickly carry out the independent design and development of PECVD, PVD and other equipment, the demonstration and optimization of core components, and the process upgrade of cell technology and complete line process.
    • Module Technology Laboratory
      The laboratory can independently complete the manufacturing and electrical performance testing of HJT high-efficiency modules, which is of great significance for the reliability test of PV modules and the process optimization of HJT modules.
    • Analytical Test Center
      The center can independently test and analyze the performance of amorphous silicon films, TCO films and other advanced films and raw materials for the R&D of high-efficiency cell equipment technologies and the optimization of the complete line production processes.
    • Laser Laboratory
      The laboratory can independently carry out the R&D of OLED film laser equipment, Mini/Micro LED wafer equipment, semiconductor wafer equipment and the optimization of process and solutions.

    Cooperation Mechanism
    The Company has formed a mechanism of "Industry, University, Research, Application", and has carried out industry-university-research cooperation projects with Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Suzhou Research Institute of SEU, Anhui University, Xi'an University of Technology, Changzhou University, Jiangsu University and other well-known universities, promoted the scientific research cooperation between post-doctoral workstations and enterprises, and introduced a number of doctoral personnel to facilitate the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. Through industry-university-research cooperation and strong coordination of industry-leading enterprises, and based on the organic combination of laboratory research and production line technology development, the Company has successfully achieved breakthroughs in the key equipment and technology of high-efficiency crystalline silicon PV cells.
